What is an interlayer short circuit
Interlayer short circuit is a short circuit between two adjacent layers due to insulation damage. After a long period of over-load operation of the transformer, the winding generates high temperature, charred the insulation, may be damaged and fall off, resulting in a short circuit between turns or layers. The connection of the winding is not in good contact. When running under load, the joint is heated and damages the local insulation nearby, resulting in short circuit between turns and layers.
Short circuit between high frequency transformer winding layers
(1) abnormal heat of transformer.

(4) power side current increases.
(5) unbalanced dc resistance of three-phase winding.
(6) high voltage fuse is broken.
(7) gas relay operation.
(8) the oil storage tank emits black smoke.
Cause of short circuit between high frequency transformer layers
The winding with baffle wall, because copper wire upper baffle wall, caused the insulation distance is not enough. This causes the coil to leak to the next layer of winding.
Cutting scissors cut through interlayer tape or insulation film.
Due to design reasons, the space between layers is not enough.
